Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty

You may know that I was in New York a few weeks ago. It was so amazing there and one of the highlights was the exhibition of Alexander McQueen, Savage Beauty. Unfortunately it wasn’t allowed to make photos. But during the exhibition we saw a lot of quotes of McQueen. I noted the ones that I really liked. So I want to share the quotes with you today and also share some photos from the exhibition that I found on the internet. And I want to share the Armadillo shoe that I bought there. In this collection the idea was to turn people’s faces on themselves. I wanted to turn it around and make them think: am I actuelly as good as what I’m looking at?

You’ve got to know the rules to break them that’s what I’m here for, to demolish the rules but to keep the tradition.

I oscillate between life & death, happiness & sadness, good & evil.

I want to empower women. I want people to be afraid of the women I dress.

People find my things sometimes aggressive. But I don’t see it as aggressive. I see it as romantic dealing with a dark side of personality.
