Love For Details

There is one kind of fashion photos that I really like and that are streetsyle photos. I love the fact that people walking on the street are photographed by photographers.

Last time I especially love the detail photos. Just a photo from a shoe, bag or a belt can be so inspiring. Therefore I want to share you my favorite detail photos. I photographed them myself during a fashion exhibition, while visiting a shop or a fashion show. Hope you like it.

Walter Van Beirendonck Wonderland

The photo that really got my attention in the latest L'Officiel

One of the most important things in my life is to discover new fashion and designers. I really like it when fashion is mixed with art. The meaning behind that means so much more to me than the clothes that is hanging in the Zara or H&M for example. There are a few designers who can really mix fashion and art. Since last week I can add a new designer to my list, the belgian fashion designer Walter van Beirendonck.

I read an interview with him in the Dutch L’Officiel magazine and I was in love. With his designers, his sense of fashion, his way of thinking.

He mainly designs for men but also for women. During his latest collection Walter only designs for the men, but in my eyes some items you can also wear as a woman. This collection is for the Spring/Summer 2012 and is called Cloud 9. In the collection you really see the clouds coming back for example in the backpack. You can also see walking sculptures these are made together with the Viennese artist Erwin Wurm. He really impressed me with his designers and I definitely going to keep an eye on him and his collections.

What do you think of his designs?

Cambridge Satchel Bag

Bags are items that I think you can never have enough. I think I have about 60 bags and even though I don’t wear all of them, I just can’t throw them away. Maybe I have a special bond with all of them. My bags collection contains bags of Marc Jacobs, Zara, H&M, Vintage bags etc. But I think I have a new addiction, namely the Cambridge Satchel bag. I have already spotted them on the streets and when I was watching the site of Cambridge Satchel I have lost my heart to the pink version. I just love the shape of the bag and the color is lovely. Maybe I will add this bag to my bag collection soon.

The color that I really love

Back To The Sixties

When I saw these photos I just got the wow-feeling. Maybe you are wondering what that feeling means to me, but I just love the setting of this editorial. The brightness of the photos and the bright colors that the model is wearing really fit together. Model Renatta Sozzi is an ultra-mod pixie and really pulls the perfect look of for this editorial in Criativa Magazine. The photos are made by Bob Wolfenson and the styling is done by Leticia Toniazzo. The sixties are coming back!

Julia Kaldy Unibody

Shoe designer Julia Kaldy created a set of shoes called Unibody, it is a part of het Master project. The collection emphasize how the silhouette of the legs changes while wearing shoes of different heights. The colors have been made light flesh so that they merge with the rest of the body. I really love the shoes and the thought behind it.

Balloon Dress

A few weeks ago I heard that a balloon hobbyist made the weddingsdress of Kate Middleton with balloons. So I was very curious to see that dress, last night I was searching on the internet and I found it. But this hobbyist was not the only one who made a dress of balloons. The Japanese artist Rie Hosokai, goes by the name Daisy Balloon, also made dresses out of balloons. When I saw the price I was a little bit in shock, one dress is worth $2,000! A little bit to much for a dress that you only wear for about 24 hours.

Doo.Ri Fall Collection

Another brand that really got my attention during my New York trip was Doo. Ri. I did have heard of this brand before and also saw a few things from their last colletions, but their fall 2011 collection is a real beauty. The fashion designer Doo-Ri Chung love to drape and wrap dust. It is very impressive to see how the dust like light shell draps around the body. In this collection you can also see some avantgarde outfits.
