Iris Van Herpen Haute Couture 2012

I love the outfits from Iris van Herpen. The Dutch designer draws much of her inspiration form the natural World. She is using computer-assisted design to create intricate 3D patterns that are then painstaking assembled by hand. When you see her designs in real lifeyou will see every little detail.

She presented her new collection at the Paris Couture week. Sculpted in organic body-amour of glinting copper, leather or acrylic she showed a cast of graceful aliens. When you know her style you will recognize a her outfits.

You can see that the volumes and textures are perfectly controlled. The masterpiece of this collection is definitely the Caterpillar looking dress, contrasting in a way with Iris herself. A butterly that is absolutely free to let her creativity bloom.
